About

Hi, I'm Isabella. I love building products from zero to one and have worked across both product and engineering. I'm based in San Francisco, where I spend my free time exploring the city and, occasionally, making ice cream.

Study Marker - studymarker.com

Started an AI-powered study platform after seeing how difficult it was for students to turn hours of exam preparation into better results. Built and launched the product from scratch, growing it organically to more than 4,000 students.

I started Study Marker after watching my sister spend hours preparing for the HSC, Australia鈥檚 university entrance exams, without seeing that hard work translate into her grades. Her experience brought back my own frustrations with a school system that often rewards shaping an answer to fit a specific marking framework, even when a student understands the underlying problem.

The first product I built let students upload a photo of their response to a practice question. AI would mark the response and give them specific feedback on what was missing and how they could improve. It shortened a feedback loop that could otherwise take weeks while a student waited for a teacher to review their work, helping them take action.

I launched the tool online and it began growing organically. As I spoke with students and learned more about how they studied, I expanded the product with features including quizzes and flashcards. Study Marker has now been used by more than 4,000 students worldwide.

Sove

Built a fashion brand from scratch as a side project, learning how to take a garment from an initial sketch through sampling, manufacturing, and creative launch.

I had never made a physical product before, so I started Sove to learn how an idea moves from a sketch into a real object. I also had no sewing or fashion design experience, which meant learning every part of the process as I went.

I spent a lot of time working closely with manufacturers to develop the pattern and refine the design. It took around five samples before I was happy with the final product. Along the way, I learned an enormous amount about fabric, construction, and quality, including how many seemingly small decisions can completely change the way a garment looks and feels.

I especially loved the creative direction: defining what the brand should look like, understanding who the customer was, designing the clothes, and shaping the concept for our first photoshoot. Seeing something I had designed being worn by a model on set was an incredibly rewarding feeling. I hope to keep making more creative projects like this <3

Birdy

Designed a modern bird-watching app inspired by Pokemon Go, gamifying local wildlife discovery and encouraging people to explore the world around them.

Birdy began when a friend who had recently taken up bird watching showed me the apps they used to identify and track sightings. I was surprised by how dated many of them felt, especially given how many people used them every day.

I thought it would be fun to reimagine the experience with the sense of discovery and progression that makes Pokemon Go so engaging. Birdy turns spotting local birds into a game, encouraging people to explore their area.
